Sia is an award-winning creative director and film maker. They are a dancer, harpist, doula, emergent strategy and transformative justice mediator.
Sia’s background has shaped her understanding of the power of holding space for both pain and healing, guiding her to navigate the complexities of environmental challenges and the deep emotions that accompany them.
Through her work, she has witnessed the interconnectedness of all life forms, recognizing the ocean as a mirror of our collective experiences - a vast expanse that holds both the echoes of grief and the seeds of hope. As we face the stark reality of a potentially dying ocean, Sia believes in the transformative power of coming together in community to share stories of restoration, reconciliation, and change.

Destinie Adélakun is an award-winning artist and filmmaker hailing from the ocean groves of West Africa and South India. As both a storyteller and activist, she brings African and Caribbean diasporic stories to life, conveying the collective experience of these communities. Adélakun's films are driven by her personal values and experiences, exploring themes of social justice, empowerment, identity, hope, mental health, ancestry, belonging, and religion.

Lowel, a talented Brooklyn native, embarked on his camera journey back in 2016. With an impressive portfolio that includes collaborations with renowned companies like Complex CA, CUNY, and Cinematic Records, Lowel has amassed a wealth of experience in the realms of film and photography. A true polymath in the world of the lens, Alomar has produced a diverse range of content spanning from branded social media content to music videos, short films, and documentaries. Currently, Lowel is dedicated to fostering community engagement among youth and promoting education, all while striving to carve out a successful career as a Content Creator and Camera Operator.
Whale Whispering with Michaela
Michaela A. Harrison is a recently-returned Washington, D.C. native whose career is rooted in relaying the healing, transformational power of music through song.
Michaela is leading by example. She is in direct communication with middle passages ancestors, and is a leader in whale teachings. Her story will be interwoven throughout the other expressions of Sea Dance in the documentary.
We will journey with Michaela as she whale whispers and capture stunning footage and sound that will call in ancestors, bring reverence for the labor of channeling whale whispering, and demonstrate an emotional and empathetic beauty about how all beings live in communicative exchanges with endless possibilities toward life and liberation.
